Ružić and Fabrizzi: Public administration reform important for the functioning of the whole country

Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Branko Ružić, has met with the Head of EU Delegation, Sem Fabrizzi, in Belgrade today and discussed the process of public administration reform in Serbia. Interlocutors agree that after the necessary rationalization in the administration, it is necessary to continue optimizing the work process and investing in improving the knowledge and skills of employees, as well as creating fair and better conditions for their work. “People are the key to the reform,” Minister Ružić said, noting that the amendments to the Law on Civil Servants planned for this year will also change the knowledge and skills assessment in the recruitment process, and ensure professional development and merit-based rewarding of employees. The Minister also noted that the salary system reform will continue, because only a fair, transparent and manageable staffing system and financing may raise the motivation of employees, ultimately contributing to better quality services being provided by the administration to the citizens. Head of EU Delegation to Serbia, Sem Fabrizzi, added: “If the administration progresses, then the whole country will progress.“
