“By the new Action Plan on Implementation of the Open Government Partnership Initiative in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2018-2020, Serbia will set measures to improve transparency, government accountability and civic participation”, emphasized representatives of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government at the Open Government Partnership Global Summit held on 17-19 July 2018 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The Summit was also attended by Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, who emphasized at the ceremonial opening that digitalisation was one of the priorities of the Serbian Government, primarily in the fields of public administration, economy and education, and that the number of service provided electronically to citizens and businesses by government institutions and administration had increased in Serbia in the previous year. The Summit was held to promote exchange of information and to improve the open government agenda, as well as to address new challenges faced by countries with the aim of improving citizens’ lives across the world. This Year Summit was focused on civic participation, fight against corruption and provision of public services. Representatives of the Ministry participated in the Summit owing to support from the Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA), which also organized the Regional Panel dedicated to the Open Government Partnership where representatives of the Ministry presented Serbia’s achievements in the open data initiative.
