MINISTRY AND WORLD BANK TOGETHER IN CREATING AN ADMINISTRATION THAT SUITS ALL CITIZENS

At today’s meeting between the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Branko Ružić and representatives of the World Bank, discussions were held on current and future cooperation between the two institutions in the field of optimization and modernization of public administration.

“Public administration must follow modern development trends and digitally transform itself with the use of modern technologies if it truly wants to be at the service of citizens and the economy and not slow them down”, stated the minister.

He noted that strong foundations have been laid for the new administration under construction, with legal solutions defining the directions of work, and that in the meantime a lot of work has been done on establishing a new human resources management system, eServices, networking, strengthening inspections and educating officials.

The interlocutors pointed out that the financial agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the World Bank, worth USD 55 million, shall significantly contribute to the improvement of the work of eGovernment.

“The development of eGovernment is one of the strongest tools in the fight against corruption and the grey economy, as business processes are being computerized and the influence of the human factor on the realization of services decreases”, concluded Minister Ružič.
