Representatives of MPALSG attended an online meeting today on the occasion of the presentation of the new strategy for the Public Administration Reform 2021-2030 and the related Action Plan 2021-2025 to the international grantor community.
It was emphasized at the meeting that the reform process and the new strategy are the results of a long-term effort, and that practice has shown that the success of the implementation of reform processes largely depends on the support of the international community. The coordinators of individual and specific objectives of the strategy highlighted those activities that require special grantor support, while the coordinator of the strategy from the Ministry clarified the course of drafting the document and answered questions about the structure of the document and its parts, as well as lacking funds for their implementation.
Speaking about the new strategy, representatives of the international grantor community pointed out areas where they would be able to support the implementation and pointed out that this type of grantor meetings is an excellent platform for synchronized action and the exchange of information to ensure more efficient implementation of all steps and activities.
The interlocutors agreed that this meeting is an indicator that public administration reform is indeed one of the three main pillars of Serbia’s accession to the European Union and concluded that there is great interest from grantors to continue supporting public administration reform, but also great enthusiasm within the state administration for the reform to be effectively implemented.
The meeting was realized and moderated with the support of the EU project funded by IPA 2015 funds “Support to the visibility of public administration reform and communications under the Sectoral Reform Treaty.”
Apart from representatives of MPALSG, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the Republic Secretariat for Public Policies, who are also the bearers of activities in the new programs of public finance reform and regulatory reform. An extremely large number of representatives of the donor community in the Republic of Serbia also attended – representatives of the European Union, embassies, international organizations, financial institutions, and others.
