OBRADOVIĆ: I AM GLAD CITIZENS OF RAČA ARE SATISFIED WITH WORK OF ONE-STOP-SHOP

“I am glad citizens of Rača are satisfied with the work of the one-stop-shop and that first results are evident. Rača is one of 14 local self-government units which have OSS, while additional 11are being prepared, and I would like to commend the management of the municipality of Rača, which prepared before applying for this favourite project of towns and municipalities in Serbia, the aim of which is to improve services at the local level. MPALSG supported various projects in Rača with over 23 million dinars in the previous two years, which shows that people in Rača and the management love their municipality and that they are dedicated to the improvement of living conditions in it”, said Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Marija Obradović after she visited OSS in the municipality of Rača, talked to the local management and visited the preschool facility “Naša radost”.

She emphasized that MPALSG supported provision of equipment for a part of the preschool facility “Naša radost” with six million dinars, which ensured enrolment of 350 children in this preschool facility as early as in September and said that her visit today and visiting of works in the field proved that money was invested in the right place. Ms Obradović noted that MPALSG also supported other projects in Rača, such as formation of the joint public attorney’s office for the municipalities of Lapovo, Batočina and Rača through inter-municipal cooperation and commended again the management of the municipality for dedicated spending of fuds received form MPALSG. On this occasion, she also announced support to the completion of works on the Cultural Centre in the Vučić village, because work of such institution could significantly improve the quality of life in the village.

In Rača, Minister Obradović urged Serbian citizens to vaccinate, particularly young people, emphasizing that the state ensured all preconditions to protect its population against COVID-19 and said that vaccination was a national security issue, inviting all citizens to protect themselves and others and also their country by vaccination.

“Rača is not among the top municipalities in Serbia in terms of vaccination. We considered an option that mobile teams continue working, in addition to vaccination points in the medical centre Rača and two out-patient clinics, because only vaccination can ensure collective immunity. Treatment of patients with COVID-19 costs a lot to the country, almost 90 percent of deceased were not vaccinated and the country did everything to ensure we have sufficient vaccines free of charge. This is why I urge you once again to vaccinate, particularly young people, and the state will implement the campaign also through a prize competition and various benefits for vaccinated people, in order to additionally motivate citizens for immunization”, said Ms Obradović.

On a ceremonial session of the City Council of Rača, held to commend the Municipality Day, Minister Obradović was presented an award for exceptional contribution to the progress of the municipality.

On this occasion, she said she received the award on behalf of employees in MPALSG, and also all employees in local self-government, because visible results that have positive effect on citizens’ everyday life could only be achieved by joint work.

“Even development of local self-governments is one of the priorities of the Serbian Government, and the objective is to ensure that citizens in every city and town in Serbia have the same quality of services as in Belgrade. We should preserve everything that was built and created in the reform wave initiated by the Serbian President”, said Ms Obradović.
