OBRADOVIC: STRICT CONTROLS AND INTENSIFIED INSPECTIONS TO START IN GUČA AS OF TODAY

“As of today, strict controls and intensified inspections will be carried out in Guča. We will have around 30 national and local inspection teams in the field, who will, in addition to regular controls, perform extraordinary inspections relating to the enforcement of prevention measures against COVID-19 “said the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Marija Obradovic after today’s sessions of the Festival committee in Guča.

She pointed out that as the Minister who chairs the Coordination Commission for Inspection Oversight, she found it particularly important that the inspections be on the spot and alert with regard to the risks, but also that the visitors of the Festival follow all the organizer’s instructions and act responsibly. The success of the Festival would solely depend on the division of responsibilities between the organizers, Inspection and the visitors.

Members of the Festival Committee submitted a report to Minister Obradović on the measures taken by all the auxiliary services, from medical and health services, inspection teams to utility services and local organizations participating in the preparation of the Festival, following the instructions of the national Crisis Staff and the Coordination Commission for Inspection Oversight.

“The local self-government has set up an outstanding plan to guarantee the safety of all guests of the Dragačevo Festival as much as possible, by introducing a multiple control model. Vaccinated citizens and those with a negative PCR test will be allowed to enter the protected zone, while in the broader zone, there will be a number of points for testing the unvaccinated visitors, using rapid antigen tests,” Obradović explained.

She pointed out that the Trumpet Festival, celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, is extremely important for the culture and economy of this region, but also for the promotion of Serbian tradition, which is why it is important to have it organized this year as well, however, restrictive approach and compliance with all the anti-epidemic measures have to be observed.

“As a member of the Crisis Staff, I can say that the organizers of the Trumpet Festival have met all the requirements that we insisted on, and it is up to us now to monitor the situation in the coming days,” the Minister concluded, calling upon all visitors and participants, but also the citizens of Guča and the surrounding area to respect anti-epidemic measures and adhere to the principles of responsible behaviour.
