“The essence of the work of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, in accordance with the policy of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, is decentralization of Serbia, so that all funds are not solely invested in Belgrade, but that places like Osečina can feel that the Government of Serbia and President Vučić are actually thinking about the people living in smaller local self-government units”, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Marija Obradović, has said during her visit to the Municipality of Osečina.
She has stressed that, although Osečina is among the smaller municipalities in Serbia, its residents should be aware that it is commendable that they have a young and agile team governing the municipality, which nurtures continuous, daily communication with the Government of Serbia when it comes to projects which are of significance for this municipality and the lives of its citizens.
“The Municipality of Osečina and MDULS have jointly invested over RSD 17 million in the reconstruction of PI “Lane”; however, that is not enough as we need additional investments, which was the topic of our discussions today. With such investments, we shall improve the quality of life of citizens to the extent where we might prevent their departure to big cities. The goal of our policy is for living conditions to be better in smaller municipalities as well”, Obradović has stressed.
She has stated that she had also talked with the authorities governing the Municipality of Osečina about capital and other investments, primarily concerning the securing of investments for the upgrading-refurbishing of the Sports Centre in Osečina, improving the work of the municipal administration by establishing a One-Stop Shop, but also about inter-municipal cooperation projects which aim at preventive action in defence against natural disasters, which MDULS shall significantly support in the coming period.
“The citizens of Osečina should be satisfied because, thanks to the expert team of the Mayor Nikola Tomić, Osečina has numerous projects which shall be implemented in cooperation with the Government of Serbia, which can improve the quality of their lives”, Obradović has concluded.
On this occasion, she also urged the citizens, both from Osečina and throughout Serbia, to get vaccinated and has stressed that, following from the view of Prime Minister Brnabić who affirmed that the State had secured enough vaccines and protective equipment, everyone should follow their
conscience and responsibility to get vaccinated in the 21st century.
“With each day you refuse to get vaccinated, you indirectly prolong the stay of COVID-19 in Serbia. Vaccination is the only way to bring the fight against COVID-19 to an end”, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government has said.
Minister Obradović and State Secretary Čedomir Rakić have talked today in Osečina with the representatives of this municipality about several development and infrastructure projects, which are intended for youth and sports activities, as well as for improving the work of the municipal administration, which are also priorities of MDULS in this mandate.
