Today, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Marija Obradović, and the employees of the said Ministry have voluntarily donated blood at the Blood Transfusion Institute of Serbia.
Obradović has said that MDULS urges cities and municipalities throughout Serbia to organize voluntary blood donation at their municipal and city administrations.
“This is especially important now when we need blood reserves of all blood types. For me, as someone who has a rare blood type, it is extremely important that I respond to organized voluntary blood donation, and everyone who also responds does the right thing,”Obradović has said.
She has stated that, as a regular blood donor, she constantly promotes a positive spirit of giving, because that is ultimately important for the donors, but also important at a time when we are still fighting COVID-9, given that the epidemic has caused such actions to remain sidelined.
“The door is open to everyone, and even vaccinated citizens can donate blood, in accordance with certain rules. It is important that you do not give up, that you do not lose your will, and to donate blood,” Obradović has said.
This is the second time this year that employees of the Ministry and the Minister herself have responded to the action of voluntary blood donation organized by the Blood Transfusion Institute of Serbia, especially in the period when blood supplies are considerably low.
