As part of last week’s two-day visit to the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, a delegation of the National Agency for Information Society (NIA) of the Republic of Korea has visited the location in the City of Niš, where they shall, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding and Joint Cooperation in the field of Information and Communications Technology signed between MDULS and NIA, open another Serbian-Korean Information Access Centre in Serbia by the end of the year. During the visit to the proposed location, it was particularly pointed out that the architects at NIA would contribute to the development of an architectural solution for the functioning of SKIP Centre in the City of Niš.
On the second day of official visit to Serbia, the delegation of the Republic of Korea had met with the representatives of MDULS at the SKIP Centre in Belgrade. At the meeting, the work of the Centre so far and the impact of implemented IT programmes and trainings have been discussed, as well as planned initiatives and future steps in this area. The representatives of the National Agency for Information Society of the Republic of Korea have expressed their great satisfaction with the achieved progress and overall functioning of the Centre, and it has been particularly stressed that the SKIP Centre was rightly declared as the best of its kind in the world.
The Serbian-Korean Information Access Centre, which operates within MDULS, has been awarded with the prestigious Best AIC Award, in the competition of more than sixty similar Centres supported by the Republic of Korea, which operate in the same number of countries around the world.
