“The Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, the entire Government of the Republic of Serbia and President Aleksandar Vučić shall continue to support the development of Topola and Šumadija Administrative District. We owe that to our citizens, but also to our ancestors, because the fight for our freedom had originated precisely in Šumadija, which was and remains the cradle of modern Serbian statehood,” the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, has said at the solemn opening of the gym at the High School “Kralj Petar I” in Topola, for the reconstruction of which the Ministry allocated RSD 28 million from the budget during the last year.
Martinović has pointed out that the implementation of this project created better conditions for access to sound and high-quality development and education of all students, and that it improved sports and recreational facilities for youth to practice sports in Topola. As he has stated, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government had aided the implementation of numerous other projects in this municipality, which are in the interest of the citizens.
“For three years in a row, we have supported the implementation of the two-day event “Ethno Fair”, thanks to which the cultural life of the municipality has been enriched, and during the last year we also opened the One-Stop-Shop”, Martinović has stated and added that this is important and useful for the inhabitants of Topola, because only a high-quality municipal administration can more efficiently and effectively respond to their needs and support them.
Pointing out that the Ministry had recently carried out a Public call for the allocation of funds, in the amount of RSD 490 million, the minister has said that a large number of cities and municipalities have applied for funds with quality projects, and that MDULS will try to help as many Local Self-government Units as possible, within its capabilities.
“The Government of the Republic of Serbia, following the policy of President Vučić, shall continue to fight for the further economic growth of our country, the equal development of cities and municipalities, and to care for each of our citizens, without discrimination,” the minister has concluded.
The solemn opening of the gym was also attended by the President of the Municipality of Topola, Vladimir Radojković, the principal of the High School “Kralj Petar I”, Miloš Petković, and the MP, Dragan Jovanović. Following the introductory addresses, a volleyball match was played in the reconstructed gym, which was followed by performance by the Centre for Nurturing of Traditional Culture “Oplenac“.
