“This year, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government has allocated RSD 11 million from the Budget Fund for the rehabilitation of children’s playgrounds within the complex of preschool institution “Milica Nožica” in Valjevo. This is our modest contribution to the policy implemented by the State with the aim of having as many children as possible, and providing them with the best possible conditions for residence and education in institutions which take care of their growth and development,” the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, has said during today’s visit to Valjevo.
Pointing out that there have been no major investments in the rehabilitation and adaptation of this preschool institution since it began operating in 1964, Martinović has said that the plan is to open three more new facilities within this educational institution, with the aim of resolving the issue of long waiting lists for enrolment of children to kindergartens. He also added that caring for children is a priority, because all the big projects implemented by the State shall be for naught if there is no one to succeed us.
Martinović has emphasized that, thanks to the wise, state-building policy of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, Serbia had managed to attract investors and open new factories throughout the country, even in the current difficult foreign political circumstances, which also applies to Valjevo, where the implementation of two large investments is in progress.
“Cities and municipalities will have support and a stable partner in the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government in the future as well. Practice has shown that only through joint efforts of the State and local self-government can we create good and long-term results, create new jobs, increase wages and ensure a better standard of living for all our citizens, from Subotica to Trgovište,” Martinović has pointed out.
According to him, in the coming period, the Government of the Republic of Serbia shall invest additional efforts, inter alia, into the rehabilitation of the local road infrastructure, as well as into energy rehabilitation of buildings, which are some of the problems that most cities and municipalities throughout the country are facing.
