The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, the Minister of Information and Telecommunications, Mihailo Jovanović, and the Acting Director of the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment, Milan Latinović, have attended today the promotional event for a new service on the eGovernment Portal – Request for entry/change of data in the Single Electoral Roll.
The new service enables citizens, through the eGovernment Portal, to review the data about them which is contained in the Single Electoral Roll, to submit a request for entry or change of such data, as well as to have the relevant decision delivered to their eInbox in electronic form.
“By launching this service, we continued to work on the additional improvement of the Single Electoral Roll, one of the most up-to-date records in the country, and made a new step forward in complete digitization and the creation of an administration tailored to our citizens and the economy, all with the aim of the overall progress of the State of Serbia. The Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government shall continue to actively monitor the needs of citizens and ensure that they exercise their rights in the fastest and most efficient way, while saving significant time and money,” minister Martinović has said.
He added that in the last few years, impressive results have been achieved in the field of Public Administration Reform, and that millions of hours of waiting at counters have been saved in respect of the citizens. As he has said, Serbia has more than two million eCitizens today, which means that all generations, including pensioners, have managed extremely well when it comes to using the modern information technologies.
“Serbia has come a long way in terms of digital transformation of its public administration, and the fact that citizens have actually accepted the modern, digital way of communication is evidenced by the fact that, currently, more than 2 million registered eCitizens in the Republic of Serbia use hundreds of different electronic services, accessing the eGovernment Portal, but also many other state portals – a total of 57 of them. This means that a third of our population can, for example, obtain an electronic birth certificate or citizenship quickly and easily via a computer or mobile phone, 24/7, from any point on the planet, and receive it in an eInbox on the eGovernment Portal,” minister Jovanović has pointed out and added that the service of changing the data from the Single Electoral Roll is identical to the former service provided in paper/physical form, only now it is done in electronic form through the eGovernment Portal.
Jovanović has emphasized that citizens can inspect the data about them under the Single Electoral Roll, as well as submit a request for their entry or change without going to the counter, and that this service is completely free-of-charge.
In order for citizens to initiate this service, they must be citizens of the Republic of Serbia of legal age who are registered users of the eGovernment Portal, and be logged in through the ConsentID mobile app or with a qualified electronic certificate. After logging in to the eGovernment Portal, the user can then view their data by clicking on the Single Electoral Roll screen and, if necessary, submit a request for data change.
The service is provided free-of-charge, while each person may submit a request exclusively for itself. The deadline for the competent authorized person to update the Single Electoral Roll is 24 hours from the receipt of the request.
