MARTINOVIĆ LAID A WREATH ON BEHALF OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA, ALEKSANDR VUČIĆ, IN TRGOVIŠTE AND RECEIVED THE SEPTEMBER 15TH PUBLIC RECOGNITION AWARD

On the occasion of commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Trgovište in the Second World War, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, in his capacity as an envoy of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, had laid a wreath at the memorial to the victims of the liberation of this municipality in Trgovište. Also, at the solemn Session of the PA Trgovište held at the Cultural Centre in this municipality, and on behalf of the President of the Republic of Serbia, minister Martinović had received a special award – the 15th September Public Recognition Award, which was awarded to him as an expression of social confirmation and gratitude for his exceptional contribution to the implementation of numerous projects and for the support provided to the development of the Municipality of Trgovište.

On this occasion, minister Martinović, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, had expressed his thanks to those present for this important recognition, saying that this award is an expression of total respect for all that the President of the State had done not only for the Municipality of Trgovište, but also for the entire southern part of the country, as well as that it is proof of support for the policy of growth, development and economic progress, and that it represents another, additional confirmation that citizens can feel prosperity, and that they support a wise, state-building and responsible policy, which had produced serious results.

“For the last few years, our country has been taking great strides forward and is developing in a way that was almost unimaginable a little more than a decade ago. From a once devastated state, which was on its knees and which, in the summer of 2012, was on the verge of bankruptcy and did not have the money to pay half of the pensions, we have created a strong, stable, modern and democratic state, primarily thanks to Aleksandar Vučić, which is now a country that stands proudly side by side with the most developed countries in the world”, minister Martinović had stressed, and added that even in these global economic trends and difficult times, when we are faced with numerous challenges, the citizens can see progress and prosperity in all spheres of the society.

Martinović had also explained that the policy of the Government of the Republic of Serbia is actually a policy of balanced regional development, and that in Trgovište, as well as in the entire country, the last decade had been marked by accelerated progress and a rise in the standards of living, which is corroborated by numerous capital projects which have been implemented. He had said that the interests of the people and the State are the top priority, and that the Government shall continue to invest in the development of Trgovište and the Southern Serbia, and especially so that the people from these areas can live better and enjoy a high quality life.

“We will make even greater efforts to reduce the economic differences between the parts of our country, because our ancestors oblige us to do so, as well as their great sacrifices they made in the name of freedom. It is precisely their struggle to preserve our country that provides us with inspiration for overcoming all future challenges. For the sake of our glorious ancestors, but even more so for future generations, it is our duty to create a more beautiful and better image of Serbia and to repay, at least in part, everything that this region has provided to the country and its survival,” the minister had concluded.

He added that he believes that President Vučić had appointed him as his representative on this important day for Trgovište because, in addition to being the head of a Ministry, he also serves as the President of the Government’s Coordination Body for the Southern Serbia, and that a clear message that the President of Serbia is with his people and will not allow anything bad to happen to it was sent by this act.

In the end, the minister had thanked those present for living on the border of Serbia and for having a big heart to love their country, perhaps even more than some to whom Serbia had given much more than to them.
