The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, in his capacity as an envoy of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has attended today in Aranđelovac the ceremony held on the occasion of the anniversary of “100 years of continuous work and existence of GOŠA FOM”, the equipment and machinery factory from Smederevska Palanka, as one of the entities of the former famous holding corporation GOŠA.
On this occasion, minister Martinović addressed the attendees on behalf of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, saying that “GOŠA FOM is a symbol of not only the Serbian mechanical engineering and durability, but also of growth and development, modernization and innovation, and especially successful cooperation between the State and industry.”
As a turning point in the recent business era of the company, the minister has mentioned the visit of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who visited the factory in March 2019. According to him, that act shall remain recorded in the rich past of GOŠA as the beginning of a new chapter of this company’s growth. As stated by Martinović, the President of the Republic of Serbia had expressed his readiness to help achieve the potential of this factory during his visit, after which the State invested EUR 2 million in grant funds for the modernization and technical-technological equipment of GOŠA FOM, i.e. for the procurement and purchase of modern machinery.
“President Vučić stopped the period of stagnation and enabled the further development of the oldest Serbian mechanical engineering factory. By modernizing its operations, GOŠA achieved much higher productivity and improved its financial operations, which ensured that its name is still engraved onto new machines and on a wide range of modern equipment of the best quality and highest standard. GOŠA FOM has grown today into a sustainable and promising company with a great future ahead of it. It is an example of our intensive advocacy for even more State-supported investments in Serbia, which would contribute to greater employment and rise in the standard of living,” Martinović has emphasized, and added:
“What GOŠA offers today indeed has its place in the accelerated development of Serbia under the leadership of Aleksandar Vučić, as well as in respect of the measures to modernize our economy in accordance with the policy of the Government of the Republic of Serbia headed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabić. On this occasion, I also want to promise you that we will continue to do everything in our power so that GOŠA remains the pride of all of us,” minister Martinović has said, congratulating on the anniversary and especially emphasizing that the biggest success of the factory is that its production facilities have never stopped working for a century, thus feeding families of its employees from generation to generation.
As Martinović has said, GOŠA nowadays has secured contracts for the next few years, and its operations in Serbia are mainly related to the Electric Utility Power Company “Elektroprivreda Srbije”, as well as to providing equipment for surface mines in Kolubara. According to him, the State had ensured the stability of electricity production by supporting this. The value of these contracts amounts to approximately EUR 100 million, and they will ensure the company’s stable operations in the next three years and security for 800 jobs.
At the end of his address, minister Martinović wished all citizens “that Serbia never stops developing, just as the production facilities in GOŠA never ceased with their production”, as well as that they should “preserve tradition, aware that no one can do it better than them”. Also, as a sign of gratitude for the special contribution and successful cooperation, minister Martinović has received the award plaque with the charter on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
The ceremony marking one century of operation of GOŠA was attended by the general director of GOŠA FOM, Srdan Dimitrijević, the President of the Municipality of Smederevska Palanka, Nikola Vučen, the representatives of the State and private sector, as well as by numerous representatives of partner companies from abroad.
