The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, has met today with the President of the Provisional Authority of the Municipality of Lapovo, Boban Miličić, with whom he discussed projects whose implementation could be supported by MDULS. At the same time, the meeting was an opportunity for the Minister to donate 20 laptops to the municipal administration as a form of support for the development and functioning of electronic administration.
After the meeting, Martinović has visited Trg kralja Aleksandra (Public Square in Lapovo), the rehabilitation of which was financed by MDULS, as well as the building that the municipality plans to rehabilitate and adapt into a fire station.
Speaking about the fact that the implementation of the aforementioned project is not simple feat, and that it requires significant funds, the Minister has expressed his satisfaction that the municipality is able to fund the project from its own budget.
As he said, Lapovo is led by young and agile people who have done a lot since 2016, when the economic development of this local self-government actually commenced. In support of this, among other things, is the fact that there are currently 780 unemployed persons in Lapovo, which is more than twice less than 15 years ago, when there were close to two thousand unemployed persons.
Pointing out that there are investors who are interested in investing in Lapovo, the Minister added that the municipality can count on aid provided by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, which will continue to support the development of Lapovo and all other Local Self-Government Units in the future as well.
During his stay in this municipality, Martinović had also visited the company “Fit Step d.o.o.”, which produces a wide range of products made of cardboard and plastic materials.
