The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Maja Mačužić Puzić, have visited Velika Plana today, where they toured the site at which the final works on the reconstruction of the city’s green market are performed, the reconstruction of which was supported by the Ministry through the project “Partnership for Local Development Programme”.
The minister had expressed his belief that the new facility will soon be made available to the residents of the municipality and its surroundings.
“Velika Plana is a rich agricultural and wine-growing region, and for that reason I am especially glad that the residents will soon get a modern green market where hardworking farmers will be able to market their products, and where customers will have a more pleasant shopping experience. I made sure that the facility is at the final stage of reconstruction, and I was told that the green market will have all the amenities that a modern market should have in accordance with the highest standards, and that we are expecting its opening very soon.”
On this occasion, minister Martinović had also visited the town square in Velika Plana, for the reconstruction of which the municipality is applying for funds from the Budget Fund of the Ministry.
The minister had praised the local leadership for its efforts to improve the infrastructure of Velika Plana.
“The Ministry is investing maximum efforts in order to solve the problems which the population from all parts of Serbia faces, and I am glad to see that you have recognized the need of the citizens for Velika Plana to have a new modern central town square, as well as that you are working hard in order to respond to that request. The Podunavlje region deserves adequate support from the State, and the Ministry will help with the implementation of projects as much as possible”, minister Martinović has said.
During his visit to Velika Plana, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, held a joint working meeting with the Head of the Podunavlje Administrative District, Jasna Avramović, PhD, the President of the Municipality of Velika Plana, Igor Matković, the President of the Municipal Assembly, Dušan Marić, and their associates.
The President of the Municipality of Velika Plana, Igor Matković, has highlighted the importance of continuing cooperation with the Ministry and contributing to the economic stability of the country.
In the previous period, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government had invested RSD 19 million in the rehabilitation of the Town Hall and the western wing of the municipal building in Velika Plana, and had financially assisted the modernization of work of the local parliament, whose hall was visited by the minister on this occasion, through the introduction of the system for electronic voting, recording and broadcasting of parliamentary sessions.
Minister Martinović took the opportunity of his arrival in Velika Plana to visit the Koporin Monastery.
