State Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Đorđe Dabić, was in Smederevska Palanka today, where he donated 20 laptops to the municipal administration as a form of support for the development and functioning of electronic administration.
At the meeting he held with the President of the Temporary Authority of the Municipality of Smederevska Palanka, Nikola Vučen, they discussed projects whose implementation is supported by MDULS, planned capital projects, as well as the challenges faced by the local self-government.
On this occasion, Dabić has visited the final works on the rehabilitation of the lower part of the First Serbian Uprising Street, for which MDULS had allocated RSD 20 million from this year’s budget fund. He has pointed out that it was necessary to rehabilitate the said street, given that it is one of the most important streets in this municipality, and that it has the status of a pedestrian zone.
Recalling that a One-Stop-Shop, the third of its kind opened in Serbia, also operates in Smederevska Palanka, the establishment of which was also supported by MDULS, Dabić has emphasized that OSSs, as well as the donation of laptops to municipalities and cities in Serbia, represent a contribution to better and more efficient work of Local Self-Government Units, with the aim of creating an administration tailored to all citizens.
“We try to show in every possible way that we are here for all our citizens, because the administration should be a service to the citizens. The emphasis of the Ministry’s work is on small communities, and the policy of keeping young people in their birthplaces implies providing young people with living and working conditions, similar to those enjoyed by citizens in large cities. We want to be an example to other ministries with our actions. The Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government has invested significant funds in Smederevska Palanka. Among other things, we supported the remediation and rehabilitation of the kitchen of the “Plavi čuperak” kindergarten, which is now in compliance with European standards. This project is a good example of taking care of our children, and creating conditions for the youngest and their parents to stay in their hometowns,” Dabić has concluded.
