MORE THAN 300 MILLION RSD FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF THE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT IN HEALTH CENTRES ON THE TERRITORY OF THE CITY OF BELGRADE

In order to ensure the conditions for a better level of health care, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Aleksandar Martinović and acting undersecretary in the Secretariat for Health of the City Administration of the City of Belgrade Goran Marković, signed today the Agreement on the procurement of medical equipment with associated infrastructure in nine health institutions on the territory of the City of Belgrade.

The funds in the amount of about 320 million RSD that have been allocated for the City of Belgrade are intended for the purchase of equipment in Vračar, Surčin, Savski Venac, Zemun, Grocka, Stari Grad and Zvezdara health centers, as well as for the purchase of equipment in the Zvezdara Clinical Hospital Center and the Special Saint Sava Hospital.

Pointing out that the improvement of the health system is one of the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Minister Martinović said that the government continuously allocates huge funds for all levels of health care in Serbia, with the ultimate goal of providing better and more stimulating conditions for the work of doctors and medical staff and better quality services for patients. He added that the procurement of medical equipment for other towns and municipalities around the country is underway, and that the government will continue to invest in healthcare, because there is nothing more important than the life and health of citizens.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia, as the founder of health institutions in public ownership, decided to implement the urgent procurement of medical equipment with associated infrastructure, and the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, as competent for local self-government, is responsible for the transfer of funds to the local self-government units on whose territory there are health institutions that will be the beneficiaries of this equipment.

At the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government signed contracts with 20 local self-government units for the procurement of medical equipment and related infrastructure in the total value of about 2.3 billion RSD.

Medical equipment in the form of 10 magnetic resonance machines, 12 mammograms and 15 ultrasound machines was purchased for the needs of health institutions in the territory of the municipalities Kladovo, Negotin, Sokobanja, Babušnica, Petrovac na Mlavi, Kuršumlija, Vladičin Han and Knjaževac and cities Belgrade, Čačak, Kragujevac, Leskovac, Niš, Novi Pazrar, Pirot, Prokuplje, Šabac, Užice, Valjevo and Zaječar.
