Ružić with MPs of the Republic of Korea

Today, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Branko Ružić spoke about public administration reform and digitization with the delegation from the Republic of Korea in the Serbian-Korean Information Access Center. Minister Ružić said that the cooperation between the two countries is very good which has been confirmed by the opening of the Serbian-Korean IT Access Center. The office space was provided by the Ministry and the equipment was provided by the Korean National Agency for Information Society (NIA). “We are lucky that you realize that, in addition to direct investments, Serbia needs the development of information technology and digital government, and we are honored because you consider Serbia the most developed country of all in which you have opened such centers and that you, as a state, will help us establish a sustainable model for the development of digitization of Serbia’s public administration,” the Minister said. The aim of the public administration reform is to ensure professional, efficient and modern administration in the service of our citizens, said Ružić, adding that it is important for him as the Minister that the good relations of the two countries have been concretized and materialized by the opening of this Center, because about 1200 people have undergone or are undergoing training in it. The Minister estimated that the opening of such a center is also a sort of recognition for Serbia for the achieved results in the development of the IT sector and the economy in general, since the Republic of Korea starts such projects only when the state reaches a certain level of development. “We are especially pleased that this recognition comes from a country that was once one of the most undeveloped, and today it is in the company of the strongest economies,” he said. Members of the delegation expressed satisfaction with the success achieved by the Serbian-Korean Center, as well as the desire to support further projects aimed at creating better governance for Serbian citizens.
