SERBIA IN THE EUROPEAN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION NETWORK AS AN OBSERVER COUNTRY

Serbia has become an observer in the European Public Administration Network (EUPAN).

“This is an extremely crucial step forward for us, which will enable even better public administration reform in Serbia. That is very important, especially having in mind that this type of reform is one of the three criteria for our membership in the EU”, said the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Branko Ružić.

The status of an observer country, as he explained, shall enable Serbia to exchange knowledge and experiences with other member states, which will be of great significance during the development of the Public Administration Reform Strategy for the period 2021-2030, which is under way.

Moreover, it will enable our civil servants and experts in charge of public administration to exchange knowledge, experiences, good practices, in order to become carriers of changes in public administration.

As part of the EUPAN network, Serbia shall have the opportunity to be acquainted with examples of best practice within EU Member States. EUPAN aims to improve cooperation between public administrations through the exchange of experiences, opinions and best practices.

EUPAN is an informal network of General Directors responsible for public administration within the Member States of the European Union, European Commission and observer countries.
