“One of the pillars of the development of our society is, inter alia, the modernization of public administration and its transformation into good governance, primarily as administration tailored to the needs of our citizens. The registrars are not only an important link of that modern and good Serbian administration, but also an indispensable part of the most important private moments of the citizens”, Marija Obradović, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, has said at today’s gathering which marked the Serbian Registrars’ Day.
Obradović has recalled the joint efforts of registry offices and MDULS, which provided for keeping registry books/civil records in electronic form, which resulted in the Civil Records Registry being a resource which enables the connecting between databases and creation of electronic services, which provide citizens with maximum efficiency in exercising their various rights.
“Together, we all participate in building a modern administration whose goal is the efficient exercising of citizens’ rights, without overly long and complicated procedures and unnecessary costs, and registries/civil records are one of the most important links in this process. However, as much as digitization is necessary, the greatest capital is ultimately the human himself. You are the ones who keep the personal data of the citizens of Serbia, and when you perform that work professionally and expertly, then we can be sure that our data is safe,” Obradović has concluded.
Today, MDULS had marked the Serbian Registrars’ Day at the Palace of Serbia, where almost 300 registrars from all over the country had gathered, which, after two years, was an opportunity to award the most efficient registry offices in the past period. On that occasion, Minister Obradović had presented MDULS plaques to the registrars of the city administrations of Kruševac and Novi Sad, as well as to the municipal administration of the Municipality of Vladimirci.
At the ceremony marking the Serbian Registrars’ Day, a review concerning the cooperation and results achieved so far has been made and presented by Marina Dražić, Assistant Minister of MDULS, Vera Vukićević, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Nataša Marković, Assistant Head of Department of the Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Interior.
