Start of work on public policy document – e-government development programme 2019-2021

Pursuant to Article 10 of the Law on Ministries (“Official Gazette of RS”, Nos. 44/2014, 14/2015, 54/2015, 96/2015 – other law and 62/2017) and Article 32 of the Law on Planning System of the Republic of Serbia (“Official Gazette of RS“, No. 30/2018) the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government announces its start of work on drafting the e-Government Development Programme 2019-2021 (hereinafter referred to as: Programme).

Bearing in mind that the public administration reform is an ongoing process, which includes several reform areas or specific objectives, out of which the most important is the e- government development, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government has decided to start working on developing a strategic document which will in the period 2019-2021 ensure efficient coordination and management of projects and proposed measures in the field of e-government development, with the aim of improving the quality of public services in the Republic of Serbia.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government will, in cooperation with the Office for E-Government and Information Technology, the Coordination Council for e-Government and financial assistance from foreign donors (IPA PAR and UNDP), implement all activities relating to the preparation of this strategic document.

Activities on Programme development will be compliant with the Law on Planning System and the Operational Plan adopted at the Second session of the Coordination Council for E- Government, which involves a wide range of consulting activities in developing the Programme so as the public, businesses and citizens be involved in determining priorities and strategic direction of e-government development in the Republic of Serbia.

By gathering and involving all stakeholders in developing the Programme, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government wants to re-emphasize the importance of the e-government development for the whole society and enables the most dynamic sectors, academia and businesses to contribute with their knowledge and experience to developing the electronic services for citizens and businesses.
