The Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government has allocated 29.1 million dinars from the Budget Fund for Local Self-Governments for the realization of projects in three municipalities of the Jablanica administrative district.
Today, the municipalities of Medveđa, Lebane, and Bojnik are signing agreements with Minister Marija Obradović on the use of funds from the Budget Fund for the local self-government program – support for the development and functioning of the local self-government system.
After signing the contract with the mayor of Medveđa, Nebojša Arsić, Minister Obradović pointed out that cities and municipalities in Serbia woke up and this year applied with 225 projects worth 2.2 billion dinars for funds from the Budget Fund. The value of the Fund for this year is 460 million dinars, which were allocated for projects in 54 local self-government units in Serbia. Medveđa competed with two goals, namely infrastructure projects and projects for protection against natural disasters, the total value of which is around 13.5 million dinars, and which will be used for the reconstruction and recovery of the Mladost Police Department, as well as cleaning riverbeds and repairing road networks damaged due to natural disasters, said Obradović.
She added that Medveđa is often mentioned in the Government of Serbia as one of the most active municipalities, which seeks funds for its projects, all in order to improve the functioning of local self-government.
“It is important for citizens to know that their leadership has been recognized in Belgrade as active and that this part of Central Serbia has not been neglected by the Government. “Implementing the policy of balanced development of the whole of Serbia, and especially investing in municipalities such as Medveđa, is the essence of our policy and everything we have been doing since 2012,” said Obradović.
She pointed out that the Government’s priority today is to vaccinate the population over the age of 60, in which Medveđa is a good example with 32% of vaccinated citizens in this age category, and called on everyone who was vaccinated to encourage younger people to be vaccinated because that is the only way to fight Covid. She assessed that the application through the eGovernment Portal must be better and announced that vaccination points will be opened on the territory of the entire country for the weekend, without an appointment with the AstraZeneca vaccine.
“Doctors say that the best vaccine is the one you received, that which was available to you and which you used to protect yourself. The vaccines will be delivered to all cities and municipalities that express interest, and I invite everyone to use the opportunity and possibility of vaccination without a scheduled date,” Obradović concluded.
The Minister, together with the leadership of the municipality of Medveđa, visited the riverbed in Sijarinjska Banja and PU “Mladost” for which funds from the Budget Fund are intended, as well as the vaccination point in the community-health center Medveđa.
After Medveđa, Minister Obradović will sign agreements with the leaders of the municipalities of Lebane and Bojnik, Ivan Bogdanović and Nebojša Nenadović, and visit both municipal administrations, as well as vaccination points at community-health centers.
The municipality of Lebane received funds in the amount of 12.7 million dinars for infrastructure projects and events, and the municipality of Bojnik for the project of introducing eGovernment in the amount of almost 2.9 million dinars.
