The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Serbia, Thomas Schieb, visited today the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and, in a conversation with Lady Minister Marija Obradović, expressed confidence that the good cooperation that we had so far will continue and improve in the coming period.
It was stated in the conversation that Germany is one of the leading bilateral donors of Public Administration Sector Reforms in Serbia, and that Public Administration Reform is important both for the process of Serbia’s Accession to the European Union, as well as for Serbian citizens, so that the state shall become an efficient service of its citizens.
Lady Minister Obradović presented the priorities of the Ministry’s work in this mandate, which, in addition to Public Administration Reform, include the Reform of the Payment System and Support to Local Self-Governments, and exchanged views with Ambassador Schieb on Serbia’s EU Accession Process and other important bilateral issues.
Obradović said that the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government has the task of improving state administration and local self-government to the level of European standards, and Ambassador Schieb said that Germany will continue to support Serbia on its European path.
