Within the framework of regular activities and cooperation that the Special Working Group for Monitoring the Filling of Positions in Public Administration Bodies achieves with SIGMA representatives, the fourth meeting has been held today in Belgrade at which the current situation in regards to filling of positions in public administration bodies was analyzed.
At the meeting, which has been opened by the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Marija Obradović, a revised roadmap for drafting a strategic document on senior civil servant’s management has been discussed, which Serbia would draft with the support of SIGMA experts.
SIGMA consultants have presented their activities related to the roadmap, as well as the first findings for the development of a strategic document on the management of senior civil servants working within the civil service system.
It has been concluded at the meeting that the support which SIGMA experts provide to the Special Working Group is of great importance, with the aim of concrete progress in this area in Serbia, while the concretization of future cooperation was also discussed.
Minister Obradović has recalled that resolving the issue of senior civil servants and strengthening the administrative and legislative framework which regulate this area represent the obligation of Serbia on its path to European integration, and that MDULS is one of the few ministries that does not have a single senior civil servant in acting capacity, which is an example of good practice for all other state bodies.
