CONTINUATION OF FRENCH SUPPORT TO SERBIAN ADMINISTRATION IN IMPLEMENTING THE PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION REFORM

The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Marija Obradović, and the Ambassador of the French Republic to Serbia, Pierre Cochard, have talked today about the continuation of the successful cooperation between the Serbian and French administrations in the field of Public Administration Reform.

Pointing out the upcoming appointment of François Lafond, an international expert on PAR, at the Ministry, Minister Obradović has expressed her belief that his support to the Serbian administration shall be of great importance for further implementation of Public Administration Reform, which contributes to Serbia’s further progress on its path towards European integration.

The interlocutors have also discussed the intensifying of cooperation between the National School of Administration of the French Republic and the National Academy of Public Administration of the Republic of Serbia, while Ambassador Cochard presented the training programmes to Minister Obradović for the benefit of employees in the public administration of our country. The topic of the meeting was also the promotion of learning French language in the Serbian public administration, as a candidate country for full membership in the  International Organization of La Francophonie.

Pointing out the importance of greater participation of women in politics, Minister Obradović has introduced the ambassador to the Network of Women Mayors and Presidents of Municipalities in Serbia, which was formed at her initiative in March of 2021. Obradović has stressed that the women leaders at the local level had practical benefits from the Network, which helped them connect and cooperate more closely in solving the issues they face at the local level.
