FIRST RESULTS OF STUDENT PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION FAIR 2023/2024 SUMMARIZED

The Student Professional Practice in Public Administration Fair 2023/2024 was held in an online environment in the virtual space of the representative building of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, and this year it attracted great interest from the academic community, primarily from students.

A modern 3D platform specially developed for this purpose allowed visitors to participate in all the fair events, regardless of where they are – to attend a thematic panel discussion on the opportunities offered to students by professional practice in public administration, to visit the virtual stands of authorities and universities, to talk with colleagues from the administration in chat rooms, but also during the breaks between sessions, via a video presentation, to see how it was at the forums held at a large number of faculties as part of the promotional campaign for this Fair, what their colleagues who attended professional practice in EU institutions thought about professional practice, to tour the virtual space and familiarize themselves with the halls and salons of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

In the days leading up to the Fair and on the day of the Fair, the Virtual Community of Student Professional Practice in Public Administration – a meeting place for public administration bodies, universities and students and the entrance to the Fair, had over 7,000 visitors and 34,000 views.

Visits to the Fair were also recorded outside the borders of our country, namely from the Netherlands, Finland, the United States of America, Montenegro, Austria, Indonesia, Federal Republic of Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, France, Switzerland, Belgium, China, Hungary, Ireland and Great Britain.

The third Student Professional Practice in Public Administration Fair, which brought together 73 state bodies and Local Self-Government Units from 33 cities and municipalities and five state universities with an offer of almost 900 places for professional practice, was successfully concluded, but the digital platform shall remain open in the following period as well, so that all students who have not had the opportunity to visit it so far will be able to do so at any time and take a look at all the events of the Fair. The entrance to the Fair is still waiting for them at the Virtual Community https://strucnapraksa.mduls.gov.rs/, which remains a platform through which authorities and universities will share the most important information about professional practice with students in the academic year 2023/2024.

The first step on the Roadmap for student professional practice in public administration in this academic year has been made, and in the coming period, the announcement of competitions and the selection of students for attending professional practice, which will be carried out by universities in cooperation with faculties, will follow.

The holding of the Fair was once again supported by the EU project “Public Administration Reform Visibility and Communication”.
