The Commission for coordination of inspection supervision, chaired by the Chairman of the Commission, Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government Marija Obradović, held its first session in the new convocation today.

The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government welcomed the activities carried out so far on improving the legislative framework for inspection supervision and its digitalization, as well as the progress towards improving material status of inspectors, and pointed out that, as the Chairman of this body, she would try to make the Commission’s work more efficient.

The report on the work of the Working Group for the Coordination of Republic Inspections for the purpose of implementing measures to suppress the spread of the COVID-19 virus was submitted at the session. Since October this year, 2,000 inspectors from 44 inspections at the national level, have been jointly monitoring measures to combat the COVID-19 virus. To date, the total number of inspections in areas has been almost doubled, ie, facilities where the application of measures has the greatest effect on preventing the spread of viruses, and by changing legislation and giving broader powers to the police and communal militia as well as introducing new penal policies, the number of misdemeanor proceedings before the courts has been reduced, states the Report in one of its conclusions.

Special attention at the session was paid to the realization of the e-Inspector Project, which is a tool for inspection supervision, as well as to the results of the work of the Contact Center of Republic Inspections for petitions in the field of inspection supervision and complaints about inspection officials.
