GOOD RESPONSE OF THE ROMA COMMUNITY ON A CALL TO IMMUNIZATION AGAINST THE VIRUS COVID 19 IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAČ

More than a quarter of Roma living in the municipality of Bač have been vaccinated against the virus Covid 19, and the action of informing citizens about Covid 19 and vaccination in the field, which takes place in cooperation with coordinators for Roma issues gives good results, concluded today’s visit of the Secretary of State to the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Stevan Gligorin to this municipality.

Gligorin visited Vajska, one of the two Roma settlements in this municipality, where a vaccination point was established, furthermore, in addition to immunization, citizens are informed about the virus Covid 19, prevention and protection against the virus, but also about the importance of vaccination, especially for the elderly, in order to preserve the health of the entire Roma community.

In a conversation with the local leadership and coordinators for Roma issues, he was informed about the work of mobile teams visiting members of the Roma population in the field and perform immunization of the interested ones. It was estimated in the conversation that this type of cooperation on the field gave the best results and the president of the municipality of Bač, Dr. Steva Panić, pointed out that almost 40 percent of all citizens of Bač were vaccinated.

There are over 10,000 inhabitants in the municipality of Bač, of which about 1,000 are members of the Roma community.
