The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, together with the President of the City Municipality of Savki Venac, Miloš Vidović, and the Acting Director of the Savki Venac Health Center, Dr. Sci Med Zoran Bekić, visited today the reconstructed facility of this health centre, the reconstruction of which was supported by the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government with 20 million RSD. Emphasizing that the allocated funds were spent in the best possible way, Martinović said that the Savski Venac Health Center will also receive financial assistance from the Ministry in the amount of more than 16 million RSD for the investment maintenance project of the Health Center’s outpatient clinics.
Martinović emphasized that the reconstruction of the building eased the working conditions of doctors and medical staff, whereas the patients were provided with high-quality health care, which was, above all, the result of the efforts, enthusiasm and responsible work of the director and management of the Health Center, as well as the successful cooperation with the state leadership. He added that there are no longer waiting lists for ultrasound and mammogram examinations at the Savski venac Health Center, which, according to him, was unthinkable until a few years ago.
“The Government, on the initiative of the President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić, allocates huge funds for all levels of health care in Serbia. Currently, the public procurement of medical equipment for a large number of local self-government units is underway, which speaks in favour of the fact that the improvement of the health system is absolutely one of the priorities of the state leadership,” Martinović emphasized.
Miloš Vidović, the President of the Savski Venac Municipal Government, stated that for the municipality and the citizens of Savski Venac the reconstruction process of the Health Center means a higher level of health care, significantly better working conditions for health workers and, most importantly, even better user satisfaction.
“Continuous investment in health institutions carried out by the Government of Serbia is realized through this reconstruction project, the ultimate goal of which is a better way of life and support for preserving the health of citizens. So far, we have done a lot, we have renewed the medical equipment, which greatly contributed to higher quality and faster work. We will continue to invest in the reconstruction of strategic and vital facilities on the territory of the municipality and do our best to improve both health and other conditions of life and work on the territory of the municipality”, said Vidović and reminded that the management of the Municipality leads a responsible health policy, which is confirmed by the fact that it has been organizing free preventive examinations for citizens for nine years, in cooperation with health institutions from the territory of the Savski Venac.
The director of the Savski venac Health Center, Dr. Sci Med Zoran Bekić, pointed out that the fundamental reconstruction of this institution began in May 2023, with the great help of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, City Municipality Savski Venac and PE “Pošta Srbije”, and that in the previous ten months more than 2,000 square meters of the planned 2,400 square meters were brought to use. 26 million RSD were invested in the reconstruction of the facility, which, according to him, is much less than the estimated value of all the works.
“Thanks to these investments, both patients and health workers of the Savski Venac Health Center now have significantly better and more stimulating working conditions, which, to my knowledge, are not even available in much larger, higher-ranking institutions in the Republic of Serbia. The new area of general practice, numerous specialist services, radiology with a new ultrasound cabinet and laboratories with new medical equipment force us to be even better, faster and more successful, to the great satisfaction of our patients”, said the director, adding that the pediatric service was also reconstructed during 2022, thanks to numerous donations and enormous efforts of doctors and medical staff.
Health Centre Savski Venac is a modern health care institution, which performs outpatient health care activities in the field of primary health care. The total number of health records is more than 80 thousand, which far exceeds the number of inhabitants of City Municipality Savski Venac.
Health Centre Savski Venac was visited today by Minister Martinović and the acting Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Stanija Višekruna.
