IMF DELEGATION WITH MINISTER OBRADOVIC ON PUBLIC SECTOR EMPLOYMENT AND SALARY SYSTEM REFORM

The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Marija Obradović, talked today via a video link with the IMF delegation, led by the Head of the Mission, Jan Kees Martijn.

The meeting discussed employment in the public sector, ie the reduction of the number of employees in public administration from the end of 2013 to 2021, as well as the control of new employment in public administration after the termination of the Law on determining the maximum number of employees in the public sector, in force until the end of 2019. Also, significant attention was paid to the reform of the salary system and the set of laws necessary for the beginning of the implementation of the new salary system, as well as the normative steps that the Ministry should propose by then.

Obradović pointed out that the Ministry and the Government of Serbia are firmly committed to the reform of the salary system in Serbia in accordance with the needs of public administration, as clearly defined for the reform of the entire public administration, which resulted in the adoption of a new Public Administration Reform Strategy for 2021- 2030 with the Action Plan for the period 2021-2025. year, with a moto Administration tailored to all of us, optimized for the citizens, businesses and civil servants.

In addition to Minister Obradović, State Secretary Maja Mačužić Puzić and Assistant Minister in charge of the Human Resources Management Sector Ivana Savićević also attended the meeting.
