MARTINOVIĆ: ARDITA SINANI’S INNUSATIONS THAT “ADMINISTRATIVE ETHNIC CLEANSING” IS BEING CARRIED OUT AGAINST ALBANIANS IN PREŠEVO, BUJANOVAC AND MEDVEĐA ARE ABSOLUTELY FALSE

On the occasion of the media frenzy that was instigated by Ardita Sinani, the former president of the Municipality of Preševo, and the current advisor to the so-called Prime Minister of Kosovo, Aljbin Kurti, for Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa, which also included some American senators, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and the President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD points out that there is no, and cannot be any, reciprocity between the so-called Republic of Kosovo and the Municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa, considering that according to the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia and Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council, Kosovo and Metohija and the aforementioned three municipalities are an integral part of the Republic of Serbia.

Martinović states that the Republic of Serbia does not participate in the dialogue with Priština with the intention of reaching a modality to renounce part of its territory, but that dialogue is the only way for Serbia to reach a compromise solution for Kosovo and Metohija and to ensure lasting peace between the Serbs and Albanians.

Also, Martinović rejects Ardita Sinani’s insinuations that “administrative ethnic cleansing” is being carried out against Albanians in the Municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa as absolutely false. The alleged passivation of residences of citizens of Albanian nationality in the Southern Serbia is not carried out, and in this sense the citizens of the Republic of Serbia of Albanian nationality have the right to vote in full capacity, like all other citizens of the Republic of Serbia.

Martinović points out that Serbia, led by President Aleksandar Vučić and the Government of the Republic of Serbia, shall persist in pursuing the policy of peace, stability and civilized relations between Serbs and Albanians, both in the Southern Serbia and in Kosovo and Metohija. He recalls that the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are completely discriminated against and left at the mercy of the paramilitary and parapolice forces of Aljbin Kurti, and that the international community, including certain American senators, should make additional efforts to bring Kurti to a civilized and democratic relationship towards the Serbs who live in Kosovo and Metohija and who are not a national minority, but full-fledged citizens of the Republic of Serbia.
