MARTINOVIĆ IN KIKINDA AND SENTA: SERBS AND HUNGARIANS ARE IMPROVING THEIR LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENTS AND OUR SERBIA WITH JOINED FORCES

“Kikinda, like other cities and municipalities in the territory of the North Banat Administrative District, is an excellent example of how the majority of Serbs and Hungarians live together and in harmony. With joined forces and joint work, they improve their city, their district and our beloved Serbia, and the Government of the Republic of Serbia shall, of course, further strengthen this cooperation in the future because we really care about the fraternal relations between the Serbs and the Hungarians, as well as the strategic partnership between our two countries.” the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, has said during his visit to Kikinda.

On this occasion, Martinović announced the possibility that, during the next year, MDULS would support the project to grow the existing city service centre into a One-Stop-Shop, but also to aid the refurbishing of the old façade of one of the buildings in the centre of Kikinda or of the famous Budišin Palace.

As he said, the Mayor of Kikinda, Nikola Lukač, and the Head of the North Banat Administrative District, Miroslav Dučić, have informed him about the planned projects, as well as about the issues and challenges the city is facing. He added that the said issues and challenges mainly concern the local road infrastructure and the creation of new jobs.

Pointing out that Kikinda has a newly established industrial zone, fully equipped with utilities and infrastructure, Martinović has emphasized that a new investment here could be realized relatively quickly.

As part of today’s visit to the North Banat Administrative District, the minister, accompanied by the president of the parliamentary group of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) and the president of the Subotica City Assembly, Bálint Pásztor, PhD, and the President of the Municipality of Senta, Rudolf Czegledi, visited the final stage of works on the construction of the sewerage network in the local community of Kertek in Senta, for which MDULS had allocated RSD 20 million from this year’s budget fund.

Also, Martinović had expressed his belief that MDULS will be able to at least partially support the continuation of the renovation of the Senta Fortress in the next year.

As a form of support for the development and functioning of e-administrations in Kikinda and Senta, the minister donated laptops to the city/municipal administration, and recalled once again that they can count on MDULS as a definite and reliable partner in respect of all forms of future cooperation.
