MARTINOVIĆ OPENED A NEW PROMENADE IN SMEDEREVSKA PALANKA

“By rehabilitating a large part of the First Serbian Uprising Street, one of the most important in Smederevska Palanka, we have continued the tradition of the former promenade, which the citizens of Smederevska Palanka have been waiting for a long time. The implementation of this important project is another indicator that Smederevska Palanka is a good partner of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, and at the same time an example of how the cooperation between the State and local self-government produces results that are of immeasurable importance for the citizens,” the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, has said during today’s opening and tour of the renovated promenade in the center of Smederevska Palanka, for which MDULS had allocated RSD 20 million.

Martinović has announced the possibility that the Ministry would support the continuation of the rehabilitation in the next year, and recalled the even territorial development policy implemented by the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Serbia, with the aim of achieving equal living conditions in smaller towns and larger cities, so that young people would stay in their birthplaces.  He added that the progress in Smederevska Palanka is visible, that a lot has been done in this municipality at the initiative of President Vučić, but also thanks to its agile leadership.

During his stay in Smederevska Palanka, the Minister had also visited the Primary School “Nikola Tesla” in Golobok, built way back in 1959, where together with the President of the Municipality of Smederevska Palanka, Nikola Vučen, he distributed packages of school supplies to the first grade pupils, and he also visited the works on the construction of the new facility of this primary school.

“I am glad that the local self-government was able to finance the construction of the new building by itself, and should they face a lack of funds for interior decoration, they can certainly rely on the State’s support. I am particularly pleased with the fact that, starting from the next school year, the children will be able to attend classes in a new facility with modern equipment,” the Minister has pointed out, and as a modest contribution from the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, he donated laptops to the school.

The Minister had also visited the famous mineral water factory “Palanački kiseljak” on this occasion.
