MARTINOVIĆ RECEIVED THE CHARTER “NATIVITY OF THE MOST HOLY MOTHER OF GOD” IN TOPOLA

On the occasion of marking the Day of the Municipality of Topola and the feast day  celebrating the nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, has attended the solemn session of the Municipal Assembly today in Topola and on that occasion, as an expression of recognition for the exceptional results and contribution to the development of this municipality, he received the charter “Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God”.

In the explanation to the award, it is stated that minister Martinović had distinguished himself by his selfless involvement, support and assistance in the implementation of projects which contribute to better provision of services to citizens and the economy, of which the projects related to the reconstruction of the sports hall at the secondary school, the extension of the electrical distribution network, the modernization of public lighting and the donation of laptops for the functioning of the municipal administration stand out in particular.

“This valuable award is another proof that the citizens of Topola feel prosperity, as a direct result of the implementation of a strong and unwavering policy of economic growth and the preservation of the State and vital national interests of Serbia”, the minister has stated in his address, adding that the results of the responsible work of the Government are visible at every step, in all parts and regions of Serbia, as well as in all areas of life and work, and that even in these difficult times of global geopolitical turmoil and economic uncertainty, the country has preserved its independence and financial stability.

Speaking about the joint cooperation between the Ministry and this local self-government, minister Martinović has pointed out that MDULS had, among other things, invested RSD 28 million in the rehabilitation of the school gym at the Secondary School “Kralj Petar Prvi”, which was officially opened at the end of February of this year.

He also recalled that this is the third time he has come to Topola during this mandate, and that during his previous visit he had talked with the president of this municipality about the fact that it would be great if the Ministry, through the next cycle of the Budget Fund, helped to introduce a modern heating system, i.e. the gasification of this secondary school.

Martinović has expressed his belief that the rehabilitation of the King’s Cellar, which represents the heart of wine tourism in this region and which fits into the regional project “Šumadija, Serbian Tuscany”, will commence soon in Topola, as well as that the municipality will implement the priority project of reconstruction of the city centre and the pedestrian zones.
