MARTINOVIĆ: WE TAKE CARE OF OUR CHILDREN BY INVESTING IN NEW GENERATIONS

The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, has visited today the central kitchen of PI “Čika Jova Zmaj” in Smederevska Palanka, the renovation of which was supported by the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government. In the new kitchen, more than 2,500 meals are prepared daily for children who attend all kindergartens and primary schools in the territory of this municipality. The old kitchen had not underwent changes nor had it been innovated for more than 40 years, with two-thirds of the food preparation equipment for children being out-of-order.

The minister had expressed his hope that the capacities of the new facility will be fully utilized.

“This is the most beautiful project of the Ministry that I have visited since my appointment at its head. By rehabilitating the premises and purchasing new modern appliances, we directly contributed to the preservation of children’s health. As I was told, this technology is so perfect that children’s meals are made practically without a drop of oil. My wish is for the number of meals prepared in this kitchen to increase year by year,” Martinović has said. He has added that there can be no state-building policy if care and investment in new and upcoming generations, as well as raising the quality of life of our youngest, is not our primary goal.

During his visit to the Municipality of Smederevska Palanka, Martinović visited the One-Stop-Shop, which was one of the first to be opened in Serbia and in whose operation the Ministry invested RSD 6 million three years ago.

“This One-Stop-Shop is one of our first pilot projects. I saw for myself on the spot that this system is of great benefit to our citizens, that it shortens administrative procedures, saves time and makes everyone’s job easier,” Martinović has pointed out.

Minister Martinović held a meeting with the President of the Municipality of Smederevska Palanka, Nikola Vučena, and the Head of the Podunavlje Administrative District, Jasna Avramović, PhD, and he also visited the First Serbian Uprising Street, for the reconstruction of which the municipality applied for funds from the Ministry’s Budget Fund.
