MARTINOVIĆ: YEARS OF STATE INVESTMENT IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF VRNJAČKA BANJA HAS BROUGHT EXCELLENT RESULTS

The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, has visited the Municipality of Vrnjačka Banja today, and on that occasion formally opened the One-Stop-Shop, in the establishment of which the MDULS had invested RSD 4.2 million.

Martinović has pointed out that Vrnjačka Banja is making progress year by year, that it is one of the fastest growing municipalities, and that more and more construction works and investments into the infrastructure of Vrnjačka Banja are observed, which was also contributed to by expediting the process of issuance of building permits, which is now facilitated thanks to the functioning of the OSS. He has recalled that a few years ago, when the process of digitization of public administration had just commenced, this municipality was the first local self-government that issued building permits in electronic form.

He has emphasized that the OSS in Vrnjačka Banja is one of the few where the real estate cadastre counter functions as well, which is a good example of how state and local self-government bodies can function in one place, and added that Serbia is making great strides forward on the path of digitizing its public administration.

Pointing to the huge tourist potential of this municipality, Martinović has recalled that the State will also try to help in the coming period, and that so far it has invested more than EUR 150 million in the development of Vrnjačka Banja.

“Vrnjačka Banja is now a completely different place as opposed to how it looked back in 2012, and as the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić said, Vrnjačka Banja today looks more beautiful than many other spas throughout the Europe. It is really a beautiful place with great hotels, spas, rehabilitation centres – basically with all that you don’t see every day. This speaks of the great enthusiasm and effort of the local leadership, but also of the fact that Vrnjačka Banja is a good example of the synergy between the State and the local self-government,” Martinović has concluded, and on this occasion held a meeting with the President of the Municipality of Vrnjačka Banja, Boban Đurović, and his associates.
