MDULS CONTINUES TO AID THE STRENGTHENING OF THE INFORMATION INFRASTRUCTURE AT THE LOCAL LEVEL

The State Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Đorđe Dabić, has visited today the Municipalities of Ćuprija and Batočina, and as a sign of support for the development of electronic administration and the strengthening of the technical and informational infrastructure for the provision of electronic services at the local level, he handed these two municipal administrations a total of 40 laptops with accompanying equipment.

“The new laptops and equipment are only a part of the wider action and policy implemented by the Ministry on the territory of the entire Republic of Serbia, the aim of which is to modernize our cities and municipalities, provide more efficient services to citizens and the economy, digitize and simplify complicated bureaucratic procedures, as well as expedite the work process of local administration,” State Secretary Dabić has pointed out.

State Secretary Dabić has said that today, thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, as well as other partner institutions and activities carried out in the areas of Public Administration Reform and Local Self-Government System Reform, we have an improved administration throughout Serbia. He also indicated that the Government of the Republic of Serbia is committed to providing equal assistance to Local Self-Government Units.

On this occasion, State Secretary Dabić had invited municipalities and cities to apply for support packages in the implementation of projects whose goal is to provide better life for citizens and more efficient work of local administration, and one of such projects, as he said, is the project of establishing One-Stop Shops, as a mechanism which enables people to realize a great number of legal interests at one counter, i.e. to fulfil their obligations towards the State in an easy way.

State Secretary Đorđe Dabić today held a meeting with the President of the Provisional Authority of the Municipality of Batočina, Zdravko Milenković, while in the Municipality of Ćuprija he spoke with the President of the Provisional Authority, Jovica Antić. The topic of these meetings was the current situation in local self-governments, as well as plans for further development.
