Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Marija Obradović met today with the Chairman of the Serbian Inspectors’ Network Dragoman Paunović, with whom she discussed the schedule of implementation of the Action Plan on Reform of Inspectorates.
The two parties highlighted the issue of further hiring of inspectors according to the Action Plan, as well as the issue of transforming the posts of inspectors into the posts of independent advisors at the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, where this has not yet been done.
The two parties also touched upon other status-related issues concerning inspectorates, including in particular the amount of per diems to which inspectors are allowed during field work, as well as the issue of systemic regulation of the status of inspectors in the civil service system through the introduction of a separate vocation of inspector.
The parties agreed to review the capacities of the state as a whole in the coming period and, after consultations with the country’s top political leadership, revise and pass a new plan for implementation of the Action Plan on Reform of Inspectorates in consultation with the Serbian Inspectors’ Network, taking into account the potentially limited term of office of the current Government.
The next meeting between the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and the Serbian Inspectors’ Network to discuss these issues will be held by the end of the month.
