MINISTER MARIJA OBRADOVIĆ WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STANDING CONFERENCE OF TOWNS AND MUNICIPALITIES

Marija Obradović, Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, extended her support and announced intensive cooperation with the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM), emphasizing that the scope of work of MPALSG is very much related to the activities of SCTM.

“We need to enable and fully implement e-government, accelerate the payment system reform and work on changing the mentality that will enable career advancement and improve the capacity of public administration employees.” We will work on establishing mechanisms that preserve institutional memory and increase the efficiency and performance of senior civil servants and employees in local self-government,” said Obradović.

Representatives of SCTM pointed out that they provide numerous services to improve the operation of municipalities and towns, and that their work involves examples of active international cooperation, including competitions and projects for local self-government and licensed training, which are conducted in cooperation with the National Academy of Public Administration.

“We have recognized the challenges and potentials of local self-government reform, and in cooperation with the line ministry, as a member of numerous renowned international organizations, we are interested in helping MPALSG through 27 networks that we coordinate,” explained Đorđe Staničić, SCTM Secretary General.
