MORE THAN 2,000 VISITORS AT THE FIRST STUDENT PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION FAIR 2021/2022

The Student Professional Practice in Public Administration Fair 2021/2022, which has been organized by the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government with the support of the EU project “Public Administration Reform Visibility and Communication”, has been visited by over 2,000 students over two days, while more than 1,000 students have visited booths set by administrative bodies and universities and thus became acquainted with the offer of professional practice/internship in public administration in the school year 2021/2022.

The Fair was held on November 4 and 5 via a modern online platform specially built for this purpose, through virtualization of the Palace of Serbia, which enabled all visitors and students, but also members of academia and public administration, a dynamic fair event with many simultaneous sessions, thematic forums and panels, visits to the booths set by administrative bodies and universities who participate in the Fair, chat rooms that allowed visitors to ask questions in real time and get relevant answers from representatives of public administration bodies and universities.

A total of 18 public administration bodies (13 state bodies and five local self-governments) have participated in the Fair, which provided almost 400 positions for professional practice/internship for students of five state universities.

Professional practice/internship in public administration bodies during the school year 2021/2022 shall be conducted for final-year students of undergraduate studies, in a real environment outside the higher education institution, i.e. at a state body or a body of a local self-government unit, in the period from November 2021 to May 2022, lasting for 80 hours (four hours a day for four weeks).

The procedure for selecting students for professional practice/internship is conducted by the higher education institution (faculty that the student is enrolled at), in accordance with its regulations, taking into account the established number of students for which professional practice/internship is provided at a state body or a body of a local self-government unit (this information is included in the brochure Student Professional Practice in Public Administration 2021/2022, which is available on the website strucnapraksa.mduls.gov.rs). After the selection procedure, the higher education institution shall inform the body, which shall further organize the professional practice/internship in cooperation with the higher education institution.

The digital platform through which the Student Professional Practice in Public Administration Fair 2021/2022 was held will remain active for the next two months (access the platform at strucnapraksa.mduls.gov.rs), so that all students who missed the opportunity to visit it so far will be able to do so in the days ahead, get acquainted with the programme and all sessions of the Fair, as well as with booths of state bodies, bodies of local self-government units and universities participating in the Fair.
