The new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Serbia, HE Jørn Gjelstad stated that cooperation with the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government was very important, considering the competence that this Ministry has in the coordination of public administration reform.
“We perceive this ministry as a pillar of all other reforms, because only a strong administration can support all other activities in the country”, the ambassador said in a conversation with Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Branko Ružić, emphasizing readiness to continue supporting the Ministry.
Minister Ružić expressed gratitude for the support so far in the reform of the inspection system and the conciliation of inspection and court practice, adding that he has envisaged the continuation of cooperation in the field of strengthening the integrity of inspectors and improving the dialogue with the economy. “Thanks to the support of the Kingdom of Norway, we have halved the time for decision-making by second instance bodies”, highlighted the minister.
“The dialogue between the state, inspections and the economy has contributed to today’s results, which we are very proud of”, he indicated, emphasizing that today inspectors were allies of a good economy, while repressive measures were kept exclusively for those who have the intention to break the law.
