The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Marija Obradović, has talked today with the delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by the head of the mission, Jan Kees Martijn, through an online platform, as part of her regular work activities.
Considering the issue of postponing the reform of the public sector wage system until 2025, Obradović has pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic has stopped the reform process, and that there is room for gradual elimination of illogicalities in the public sector as regards the wages and equalization of the situation.
She has stressed that the Ministry and the Government of Serbia remain committed to the implementation of the aforementioned reform in accordance with the needs of public administration and the new PAR Strategy, which was adopted this year.
The Minister has also stated that, during her mandate, she has held a large number of meetings with mayors and presidents of municipalities in Serbia on the topic of issuing the approvals for employment in the public sector, assessing that cooperation with local officials on this issue is at a high level.
The meeting with the IMF delegation was also attended by State Secretary Maja Mačužić Puzić and the Assistant Minister Ivana Savićević, Head of the Human Resources Management Sector.
