OBRADOVIĆ: MDULS WORKS INTENSIVELY ON INSPECTION REFORM

“Improving inspection oversight and strengthening the capacity of inspections is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government in this mandate and the current focus of our operations,” said Minister Marija Obradović at the meeting held with Matteo Colangeli, Director for the Western Balkans region and Head of Serbia for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

She emphasized that the assistance provided by the EBRD to the Support Unit of the Coordination Commission for Inspection Oversight is of great importance, as demonstrated by the achieved results, adding that it contributed to the improvement of the business environment and the creation of a more favourable business environment in Serbia.

“The unit has achieved exceptional results, and the importance of its work was particularly acknowledged during the corona virus pandemic. “With the maximum use of resources and effective coordination of all inspections, we managed to respond to the challenges of the pandemic,” said Obradović.

She added that Serbia has come a long way in digitalizing its public administration and providing electronic services. She asserted her expectations that similar progress will be achieved by inspections in the reform process, thus contributing to strengthening their control function.

Matteo Colangeli, Director for the Western Balkans region and Head of Serbia for the EBRD expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation accomplished so far, stating his belief that the successful cooperation on projects would continue in the future.
