OBRADOVIĆ: SERBIA IS NO LONGER WEAK; WE WILL NOT APOLOGISE AND STAND BACK, WE HAVE LEARNED FROM MIŠIĆ NOT TO FEAR

“If we have learned anything from Field Marshal Živojin Mišić, it is that there is no room for fear and, regardless of the force that threatens our fatherland, we can win if we rely on our strengths and unity. Serbia is no longer weak; we will not apologise and stand back, however powerful those who want to stand in our way may be”, said Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Marija Obradović at a ceremonial academy held as the closing event of the jubilee-marking 25th “Mišić’s Days” in Mionica.

She said the Government of Serbia and president Aleksandar Vučić were fighting a decisive battle for the rights of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and for Serbian ancestral land and added we had no right to give up on a single inch of Serbian land that had been liberated by our forefathers.

“History is not there just to commemorate, it is there to teach us something, to hold up glorious feats from the past as the beacon and guidance through these troubled times. Surrender never was and never will be an option”, Ms. Obradović said in conclusion.

This year, the Municipality of Mionica marked the 25th “Mišić’s Days” from 16th to 20th of July and commemorated the 100th anniversary of Field Marshal Živojin Mišić’s death. In honour of the occasion, Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Marija Obradović was awarded a municipal plaque.
