“After today’s session of the Coordination Commission for Inspection Oversight, it was concluded that there are delays in work, especially in the implementation of the Three-Year Action Plan for the Employment of Inspectors. We miss over 1,000 people in the system at all levels, so that the process of inspection could function smoothly, ” said Marija Obradović , the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and the President of the Coordination Commission for Inspection Oversight.
She stated that in the coming period, much of their efforts would be focused on solving this problem in cooperation with all the ministries, and most of all in order to streamline the recruitment process.
Also, the introduction of a special civil service role of inspector was discussed at the session and Minister Obradović stated that the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government had already been working hard on the needs assessment, having in mind the low interestedness among the staff to perform this type of work.
Obradović also stated that a part of discussion at the session was dedicated to the issue of insufficient use of the e-Inspector system by inspectors.
“A small number of inspectors use this application, instead, most of them write the minutes by hand. This is not good if we wish to improve inspection processes. We have determined that the information system itself must be better adjusted to the specificities of each inspection,” Obradović concluded.
She added that all the conclusions of the today’s session made by the Coordination Commission would be translated into decisions and then forwarded to inspections, but also that special focus in the next period would be to find the solutions to the afore mentioned problems.
