“The Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government will help the municipality of Ćićevac, within its sphere of competences, to alleviate consequences of heavy precipitation and floods, which affected this local self-government in the Rasinski district”, said Minister Obradović during her visit to this municipality.
She and representatives of the municipality and the emergency situations headquarters visited this evening the building of the municipality, the primary school “Dositej Obradović” and the preschool facility “Čarolija“, the roof constructions of which were damaged during the storm, storm wind and heavy rain and are now closed and are not working.
The competent persons informed Minister Obradović that teams of the expert municipal damage evaluation commission are already in the field to undertake measures to alleviate consequences on these facilities. The Minister was also informed about the dam failure along Kočanski potok, which caused floods in Ćićevac and the Lučina village, where evaluation will also be performed and measures will be undertaken to alleviate consequences of the storm.
After visiting the damaged facilities, Minister Obradović said that MPALSG would try to find the way to help the municipality of Ćićevac to alleviate the damage on the building of the municipality as soon as possible, in order to ensure normal operations of municipal administration, and that it would find the way to repair roofs of the preschool facility and the school so that children could go to infant nursery and the new school year could begin on time for pupils.
She noted that the door of MPALSG is always open for all local self-government units, particularly for those communities where women are leaders who are in their first term of office and who manage municipalities that have big problems persisting from the past.
“I am here today in the field to evaluate the situation and to support primarily the president of the municipality of Ćićevac in the efforts to overcome the problem resulting from negligence in the past. We will try together, the Ministry, the municipality of Ćićevac and the neighboring municipalities and cities and towns affected by a similar or the same situation, to find the way to help ensure normal living for citizens and normal operations of the municipal administration”, said Ms Obradović from Ćićevac.
The municipality of Ćičevac was affected by a heavy storm on 16 July this year, with storm wind and heavy precipitation which have not been recorded in the previous 60 years, and the Municipal Emergency Situations Headquarters declared the state of emergency as early as the next day for the entire territory of the municipality.
