PRESENTATION OF STUDENT PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION COMMENCED

With the first forum held in the crowded lecture hall of the State University in Novi Pazar, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government began with a series of presentations of the student professional practice programme in public administration bodies.

In discussions with the representatives of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, the City Administration of Novi Pazar and the State University in Novi Pazar, students had the opportunity to receive information today about professional practice in public administration and specific opportunities offered to them in this academic year, as well as to familiarize themselves with the application procedure. There will be 68 places available for them to attend professional practice at the City Administration of the City of Novi Pazar, the Office of the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, as well as at the municipal administrations of the Municipalities of Tutin and Raška.

The students have expressed particular interest in the educational profiles for which vacancies for performing student professional practice are provided, whether every student can apply and what their obligations are during the professional practice.

In the next month, the presentation of student professional practice and the advantages it provides will also be held at Universities in Belgrade, Niš, Kragujevac and Novi Sad.

The planned forums are an important part of the preparatory and promotional activities for the upcoming third “Student Professional Practice in Public Administration Fair” held in an online environment, which is organized by the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, with the support of the European Union, and which will be opened to visitors on 15 November 2023.

This year, the Fair shall bring together 73 public administration bodies, with an offer of almost 900 places for student professional practice lasting four weeks, in 33 cities and municipalities throughout Serbia.

For this occasion, a new online platform was created which faithfully depicts the building of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, which will provide all visitors with the unique experience of a virtual tour of that state building.

The Fair is part of a broader reform process of strengthening administrative capacities in our public administration, in which public administration bodies have opened their doors to students with desire to support them in the study process, providing them with an opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice and gain experience in the profession for which they are studying, but also a better starting position on the competitive labour market.

The following presentations are scheduled for Thursday, 12 October, and will be held at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, starting at 11:00 a.m., and at the Faculty of Economics, starting at 1:00 p.m.

We hereby invite students to join us at these forums and in direct discussions find out everything they are interested in about student professional practice in public administration.
