Representatives of Serbs from the municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa visited MPALSG today and talked with Lady Minister Marija Obradović about the current situation in these municipalities, as well as about the implementation of projects that would improve the lives of all citizens of these municipalities, stimulate the local economy, employment and strengthen women’s entrepreneurship, but also encourage the birth and stay of Serbs in this area.
During the meeting, discussion was about cooperation with the Government Coordination Body for the municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa, investments in the local economy and agriculture, as well as inter-municipal cooperation projects, especially bearing in mind that elected Serb representatives in the municipalities of Preševo and Bujanovac do not participate in the work of local authorities, despite their own free will.
Lady Minister Obradović said that she would be happy to visit all three municipalities in the south of Serbia and get personally acquainted with the situation on the ground, and called for direct contacts and talks with Albanian representatives in these areas.
She supported the initiative of connecting the Jablanica and Toplica Districts through inter-municipal cooperation between Medveđa, Lebane and Bojnik, which was announced for January next year.
The meeting with Lady Minister Obradović was attended by Boban Pavlović and Miodrag Milković, Municipal Councilors of Bujanovac, and MP Nenad Mitrović, Branko Trajković and Dragan Nedeljković, Municipal Councilors of Preševo and the President of Medveđa Municipality, Nebojša Arsić.
