Ružić: People are the key to all changes, creators of success and sustainability of quality we are striving to achieve

Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Branko Ružić addressed senior managers,  participants of the training “Empowering Leadership in Public Administration” organized by the Ministry with Pricewaterhouse Coopers and the Center for European Policies, and funded by the Government of the United Kingdom. “We wanted to provide training aimed at fostering leadership in the public administration, i.e. to improve your knowledge and develop your skills to better respond to the complex management requirements of the authorities you come from,” the Minister said in his opening remarks to this meeting. As he pointed out, people are the key to all the changes, the creators of success and sustainability of quality that we all strive for. He also reminded that the National Academy for Public Administration, the central institution in the establishment of a uniform system of professional development of employees, has recently started working and that now, finally, employees at the local level, who have not been included in the trainings envisaged for the officers at the republican level, will also be trained through it. In the modern world, according to Ružić, the state is increasingly oriented towards the demands and needs of the citizens and the economy, and in order to be able to act according to this principle, it requires staff who not only have professional competences, but also leadership potential, motivation for promotion, openness to new experiences and skills, strategic orientation, integrity and other qualities. Minister Ružić concluded that success comes only to those who are continually developing and maturing and to those who are continuously learning every step of the way.”
